Physical Therapist Assistant - Full Time

Position Summary The Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy treatment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, coordinating patient care and counseling patients and their families. Responsibilities Essential Functions Demonstrates ability to appropriately treat patients according to professional standards of practice. Interpersonal communication skills include the ability to coordinate patient care with other team members, counsel patients and their families. Other Related Functions Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Maintain a cheerful, active area in which to treat. Demonstrates caring, honesty and open communication with all and encourages a smart and professional appearance in self and others. Participates in quality assessment, program development, student supervision, assigned committees, safety and infection control as required. Demonstrates an awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies. Practices efficient use and selection of supplies and equipment. Performs all other duties as assigned. Provides care appropriate to the age of patients served on assigned unit, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development over the lifespan, assessing data reflective of patient status, interpreting necessary information to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age‑specific needs, and providing care per unit/department policies and procedures. Qualifications Education / Training Associate degree or graduated from an accredited two‑year college program in Physical Therapist Assistant. Licensure / Certification Current license in the State of Florida as Physical Therapist Assistant. Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification. #J-18808-Ljbffr Orlando Health
