- Position Title: Data Migration Lead
- Work Mode: Remote
- Client Office Location: Portland, OR Working hours in PST
Candidate Eligibility

Years of Experience Required: 12+ Years
Responsibilities: -
- Lead data migration initiatives across DW and reporting platforms, owning design, development, and testing phases end-to-end
- Manage the complete SDLC for migration projects - requirements, planning, execution, testing, and delivery
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation
- Build proof-of-concepts (POCs) for report analysis and log analysis to validate migration approaches and troubleshoot issues
- Define migration strategy, data mapping, and validation frameworks to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Drive data-driven decision-making across the project lifecycle.
- Identify risks and data quality issues early, and drive resolution independently.
- Create and maintain documentation: migration plans, test cases, mapping sheets, and runbooks
- Mentor junior team members and guide the team as a technical lead
- Partner with business stakeholders, BI teams, and engineering to gather requirements and communicate migration progress, risks, and timelines

Mandatory skills
- Strong, well-rounded understanding of data warehousing concepts (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, ETL/ELT design)
- Significant years of experience working in data warehousing, including time spent in a tech lead role
- Proven track record managing end-to-end SDLC for DW/reporting projects
- Hands-on experience in ETL development and reporting
- Strong familiarity with data migration projects and methodologies
- Strong hands-on SQL skills (complex queries, performance tuning, data validation)
- Experience building POCs for report and log analysis
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Self-starter who can run projects independently with a data-driven mindset
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills - able to translate technical details for non-technical audiences and manage expectations across teams
