Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit position in Florence, AL, requiring cardiac drips and chest tube experience on a 13-week night shift contract.

Details

• Located on the 2nd floor PCU/Stepdown unit of a Level II Trauma Center
• 31-bed unit serving adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including post-vascular surgery, post-CABG, CVA, respiratory failure, heart failure, chest pain, and post-cath lab
• Patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
• Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps and occasional epidural pumps
• EMR: Meditech
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating may occasionally be required to med/surg
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AL or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required (3+ years preferred)
• ADN or BSN required
• Experience with cardiac drips and chest tubes required
• Critical care stepdown or PCU experience preferred
• TR band experience preferred
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Weekly orientation is held on Mondays
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Candidates must not reside within 60 miles of the facility to qualify for this travel position
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Full-time employment elsewhere is not permitted during this assignment
