Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary
Our client, a leading airline industry provider, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team. This is a 3-month contract opportunity from 09/01/2026 through 12/31/2026 with 2 openings. The position is based in Fort Worth, TX and requires onsite participation for the second round of interviews.



Core Responsibilities

• Write, test, and document technical work products, including code, scripts, and processes, according to organizational standards
• Solve complex technical problems and build components and libraries with broad organizational impact
• Design and implement integrated systems that support speed, scale, reliability, and organizational best practices
• Conduct root cause analysis, identify systemic issues, and lead action plans to address them
• Identify and manage technical debt while driving opportunities to eliminate or reduce it
• Anticipate scaling, latency, durability, security, and technical risks and guide teams toward effective mitigation strategies
• Coach junior engineers and collaborate across teams to improve engineering practices and reduce duplication of effort

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments
• Strong experience with Java
• Strong experience with Spring/Spring Boot
• Strong experience with React
• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and object-oriented design principles
• Experience with REST and/or GraphQL APIs

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

• Master's degree in a related technical discipline
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD methodologies
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or Oracle
• Experience with Azure, IBM Cloud, and/or AWS
• Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, TestNG, Postman, Cypress, JUnit, Cucumber, Playwright, Wiremock, or Mockito
• Airline industry experience

Work Environment

• Location: Fort Worth, TX
• Work Arrangement: Onsite expectations to be confirmed; second-round interview will be onsite
• Interview Process: 2 rounds - first round virtual, second round onsite
• Laptop: Contractor does not need to provide their own laptop

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $37.00 and $54.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
