Position Summary






Our Mergers & Acquisitions Tax practice advises clients on tax matters throughout the transaction lifecycle, including diligence, structuring, modeling, and post-close considerations. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex transactions across industries while collaborating with tax professionals and client stakeholders. As part of this team, you will support client service delivery, lead day-to-day execution, and contribute to the development of junior team members.Work you'll doAs a Manager, Tax Services on the Mergers & Acquisitions Tax team, you will be responsible for…Advising corporate and private equity clients on tax considerations related to mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, financing structures, and disposition alternativesPerforming tax due diligence and analyzing transaction documents to identify tax risks, exposures, and planning opportunitiesDeveloping and reviewing structuring recommendations for buy-side, sell-side, and post-transaction mattersManaging day-to-day engagement execution, including workplans, deliverables, and coordination with client and Deloitte stakeholdersCollaborating with finance, tax, treasury, human resources, operations, information technology, and risk management teams throughout the transaction lifecycleA successful candidate would possess these skills:Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a teamEffective written and verbal communication skillsMeticulous attention to detail and quality of work productExperience building and sustaining professional relationshipsAbility to lead projects or workstreamsExperience managing and prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentStrong interpersonal skills and professional demeanorProven track record of meeting deadlinesAbility to mentor and provide clear guidance to othersThe teamDeloitte’s Mergers & Acquisitions Tax practice advises clients on tax matters that arise throughout the transaction lifecycle. The team works with strategic and private equity buyers, sellers, and other stakeholders on diligence, structuring, and execution matters tied to complex transactions. Team members collaborate across tax, advisory, and industry teams to help clients address business and tax considerations in a coordinated way.QualificationsRequired:Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per weekBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Business, or Law5+ years of experience in mergers and acquisitions tax, transaction tax, federal income tax, or corporate taxExperience performing tax due diligence and structuring analysis for acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, or financing transactionsDemonstrated ability to review transaction documents, legal entity structures, and purchase agreement provisions across at least 3 transactions to identify tax implications, risks, and planning opportunitiesLimited immigration sponsorship may be availableAbility to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serveOne of the following Accreditations obtained:Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPAIf not CPA eligible:Licensed attorneyEnrolled agentPreferred:

Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or Business AdministrationExperience advising private equity funds and corporate buyers on acquisitions, carve-outs, and post-transaction integration mattersExperience managing engagement workplans, budgets, and staffWork involving Subchapter C, Subchapter K, consolidated return, or international tax matters in transaction contextsPreparation or review of tax models, memoranda, and executive-level presentations 
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
