Plant General Manager — Hammond, Louisiana
Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire, On-site
Why this role is open: The facility is embarking on a major equipment refresh.
A day in the lifeMorning starts on the floor—PPE on, safety walk complete, and a quick huddle with supervisors to set targets for safety, quality, and on-time orders. By mid-morning, you’re partnering with customer service to align production plans with demand. After lunch, you’re deep into a capital project review, ensuring new equipment and molds integrate smoothly. Before end of shift, you’re coaching a front-line lead, reviewing corrective actions on a quality complaint, and scanning operating statements to keep costs on track. Throughout it all, you’re present, steady under pressure, and relentlessly focused on a safety-first, quality-driven culture.
About the plant- Main manufacturing site with an additional off-site warehouse
- Approximately 150 employees
- Non-union environment

- 24/7 operation running four 12-hour shifts

- Own day-to-day plant performance across safety, quality, service, output, cost, materials, equipment utilization, manpower, and planning.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, quality, GMP, company policies, procedures, and recognized manufacturing practices.
- Advance safety through training, safety meetings, audits, employee engagement, suggestion programs, and recognition.
- Elevate quality via corrective actions, complaint resolution (customer and internal), new product qualifications, audits, and formal action plans.
- Select, train, coach, develop, and retain shift and staff talent.
- Review operating statements; manage spend to budget.
- Build and sustain strong customer relationships; collaborate on improvements and supply chain cost reductions.
- Oversee production planning to meet customer requirements and maximize utilization in partnership with Sales and Customer Service.
- Serve as project lead for equipment and mold initiatives tied to the ongoing refresh.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end physical inventories.
- Create and execute strategic and tactical plans aligned to site and company objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement using operational excellence tools across functions.
- Champion an open-door, team-first environment; support cross-functional projects as needed.
- Travel up to 25% may be required.
You’ll lead a capable group—not a “come in and fix everything” mandate. Your role is to protect what works and improve what can be better.

- Operations Manager (manages Supply Chain Manager—who manages 4 Warehouse Supervisors—and 4 Production Supervisors)
- CI Manager (manages Quality Engineer)
- Quality Manager (manages Quality Compliance Manager and Quality Improvement Manager)

What you bring- Bachelor’s degree and/or related plant management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and plant leadership experience.
- 5+ years in manufacturing operations supervision or management.
- Proven leadership with strong communication skills across employees, managers, vendors, and customers.
- Calm under pressure; able to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive, motivating presence on the floor.
$21 per hour
