COORDINATOR SPECIAL PROGRAMS HEALTH SERVICES IV SUPERVISOR (WIC PROGRAM COORDINATOR)

LOCATION OF POSITION: MDH, Carroll County Health Department, Westminster, MD 21157 Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this position is to provide supervisory oversight for the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the Carroll County Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program in accordance with USDA and State of Maryland regulations. This position will plan, develop, implement, and evaluate WIC program activities to ensure access to care, utilization of needed services for targeted populations, and compliance with local, federal, and state regulations, policies and procedures. The role includes direct supervision of assigned staff, overseeing orientation and training, conducting direct observation, audits, performance evaluations, and, when necessary, the disciplinary process. The position also leads program budget planning, preparation and monitoring activities, including completion of required reports, collection, review, and analysis of data, and site reviews in accordance with State conditions of award and local health department guidance. Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Three years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources. Notes: Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education. Desired or Preferred Qualifications Experience supervising staff in a public health setting. Experience working with federal and state programs to provide services.
