Facilities Supervisor

Basic Functions: The Facilities Supervisor assists the Facilities Manager with the day-to-day maintenance, repair, cleanliness, and general upkeep of Inspire's facilities and grounds. This position provides hands-on support with building maintenance, preventive maintenance, custodial activities, grounds maintenance, facility setup, and general repairs. Essential Functions: Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs, including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, flooring, doors, windows, locks, ceilings, and related building components Assemble, install, relocate, and repair office furniture, shelving, fixtures, classroom furnishings, and equipment. Conduct routine walkthroughs of assigned facilities and grounds to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and areas requiring attention. Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of building entrances, parking areas, sidewalks, playgrounds, lawns, and landscaped areas. Assist with snow removal, salting, ice control, and other seasonal grounds maintenance activities. Perform routine custodial duties as needed, including cleaning and disinfecting floors, walls, restrooms, fixtures, classrooms, offices, and common areas. Respond promptly to spills and sanitation concerns, including the safe cleanup and disinfection of bodily fluids in accordance with approved procedures. Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies in a clean, safe, and organized manner. Respond to assigned maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner. Assist contractors and vendors with access to facilities and provide support as directed by the Facilities Manager. Provide maintenance support to preschool classrooms, day habilitation programs, administrative offices, and other agency departments. Additional Functions: Adheres to safety policies and procedures. Encourages co-workers to follow safety policies and procedures. Reports on any potential unsafe conditions to supervisor and/or Safety Committee. Follows current policies and procedures regarding compliance with privacy, security and corporate compliance policies. Be thoroughly familiar with department and program specific policies and procedures. Requirements Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, custodial services, or a related field. Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred but not required. Working knowledge of general building maintenance, including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, painting, flooring, HVAC, and grounds maintenance. Knowledge of custodial equipment, cleaning products, sanitation practices, and safe handling procedures. Valid New York State Driver's License required. Ability and willingness to travel between Inspire locations. Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and respond to facility emergencies as needed . Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Normal or corrective vision is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: Moderate to loud noise levels.
