Job Description

This role focuses on assembling specialized dispensing equipment used to spray and distribute liquid adhesives across a wide range of applications, including automotive, food and beverage, consumer products, and industrial equipment. The Assembly Associate supports material picking and assembly operations in a clean, well-organized facility, ensuring that equipment is built accurately, safely, and in accordance with engineering specifications and production procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble dispensing equipment and subassemblies according to blueprints, electrical diagrams, and work instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and electrical diagrams to ensure accurate assembly and component placement.
• Operate, monitor, and perform basic maintenance on equipment used in the assembly process.
• Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools, as well as gauges, test equipment, power lift equipment, and tow motors as needed.
• Prepare parts for assembly, including labeling, staging, movement, and tracking throughout the production process.
• Perform inspection and quality checks on assembled components and finished equipment, and accurately document quality results.
• Track and report quality metrics, nonconformances, and any issues that may affect production or product performance.
• Follow all safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and facility guidelines to maintain a safe and orderly work area.
• Adhere to production, warehouse, and administrative procedures, including documentation, labeling, and inventory control requirements.
• Identify opportunities to enhance and improve existing assembly and material handling processes and share suggestions with leadership.
• Communicate effectively with leaders and team members to coordinate work, resolve issues, and support a collaborative team environment.
• Assist with material picking and warehouse-related tasks to support assembly operations as needed.

Essential Skills

• 3–5 years of assembly experience, which may include automotive or similar mechanical assembly work.
• Proficiency in using wrenches and related mechanical hand tools for assembly tasks.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and basic electrical diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools in a production or assembly environment.
• Basic computer skills to enter data, follow electronic work instructions, and track production or inventory information.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to work on mechanical assemblies and components.
• Ability to use measuring tools, gauges, and test equipment to verify dimensions and performance.
• Capability to operate or learn to operate power lift equipment and tow motors as required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy in assembly work.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with coworkers and leaders.
• Willingness to work a day shift schedule and remain open to occasional Saturday work when needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with valves, fluid handling components, or similar mechanical systems.
• Exposure to wiring, electrical connections, or basic electrical assembly work.
• General labor experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial setting.
• Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical aspects of equipment.
• Experience with blueprint reading beyond basic layouts, including more complex assemblies.
• Ability to adapt to different product lines and industries supported by the equipment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large, well-lit, and clean facility designed for efficient assembly and warehouse operations. Subassembly workstations are located in the central area of the building, where teams build machines and components. Warehouse and shipping activities take place at the back of the facility and in a dedicated back room for shipments. The environment is climate controlled, providing a comfortable workspace throughout the year. The standard shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an expectation of openness to occasional Saturday work. Team members regularly use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, gauges, test equipment, and material handling equipment such as power lifts and tow motors in a structured, safety-focused production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wixom, MI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Wixom,MI.
