LPN RN Charge Nurse Part Time 3 PM to 11 PM

Part Time | Every Other Weekend

Manchester Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable and clinically strong LPN or RN Charge Nurse to join our evening-shift nursing team.

The Charge Nurse provides direct resident care while supervising CNAs and other nursing personnel. This position requires strong clinical judgment, leadership, organization, and the ability to manage a nursing unit confidently and professionally.

• Provide direct nursing care according to resident care plans and provider orders

• Direct and supervise CNAs and other nursing personnel

• Assign duties and ensure care is completed accurately and timely

• Monitor residents and respond promptly to changes in condition

• Administer medications and treatments

• Complete accurate clinical documentation and required reports

• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges

• Communicate with residents, families, providers, and nursing leadership

• Educate, coach, counsel, and redirect staff as necessary

• Address employee performance and policy-compliance concerns

• Complete accident and incident reports

• Support discharge planning and interdisciplinary care coordination

• Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and survey-readiness activities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility requirements

• Current, active, and unencumbered Connecticut RN or LPN license

• Graduate of an approved RN or LPN nursing program

• Strong nursing assessment and decision-making skills

• Leadership and supervisory ability

• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances require

• Knowledge of long-term care nursing practices and regulations

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work respectfully with residents, families, staff, and providers

• Comfortable using computers and electronic medical records

• Long-term care, rehabilitation, or charge nurse experience preferred
