The Opportunity A Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring all dietary supplement products comply with the specifications established by MeriCal and cGMPs. The Quality Inspector conducts objective and subjective measures, making determinations if any non‑conformance occurs. The Inspector guarantees high‑quality output through random sampling and testing at all stages—from receiving, in‑process manufacturing, to finished packaging product release. Items that do not meet specifications are investigated, and corrective actions are documented to prevent recurrence. What You'll Do Ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices [21 CFR Part 111,117 & 211] are adhered to; independently performing inspections across multiple production stages and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Following instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for materials, components, or products. Conducting sampling (Analytical, Microbial, Customer, and Retains) and ensuring testing against appropriate methods. Sampling must be conducted using good technique while verifying dimensional and functional specifications. Maintaining records of testing, information, and various metrics such as quantity of defective products per batch. Collecting samples for Analytical, Microbial, Customer, and Retains as applicable and documenting within the appropriate quality records (batch record, specification, unipoint, etc.). Communicating to the next level leader prior to rejecting raw materials, in‑process manufacturing, or finished products with respect to quality standards. Performing in‑process testing such as allergen, ATP, Water Activity, Brix, Hardness, Thickness, Friability, etc., and providing guidance to the manufacturing team on corrective actions for out‑of‑specification results. Verifying the Bill of Materials [bulk & packaging components] and ensuring proper tagging and organization of raw materials, components, staged bulk, and finished goods on the production floor, including reconciliation and pallet counts. Entering quality data and verifying expiration dates into the ERP system prior to finished‑goods release. Verifying batch records match items staged within manufacturing and packaging lines. Verifying monitoring equipment—scales, metal detectors, torque meter, etc.—is functioning correctly per established SOPs. Conducting bulk and final product AQL inspections per established SOPs and understanding varying sampling schemes based on sample size. Reviewing cleaning logs and providing verification authorization signatures to release lines. Ensuring proper hold procedures and communicating or alerting management of any unusual occurrences or issues that affect raw materials, production, or packaging. Inspecting and maintaining the working environment routinely and ensuring adherence to company safety policies and procedures. Operating forklift, pallet jacks, etc., if required. Performing other duties as assigned. What You'll Bring Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a quality‑related environment. Ability to lift a maximum of 25‑30 lbs. of material when necessary. Food safety or dietary supplement experience is a plus. Education Requirements High School Diploma/Certificate; one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
