Assistant Coach, Women's Volleyball

Job Overview The Assistant Coach, Women’s Volleyball aids the head coach in providing leadership and organization for all phases of the program at Roosevelt University, complying with institutional, NCAA, and GLIAC rules and regulations. Responsibilities Competition and Practice Management – Facilitate team practices and competitions, provide real‑time feedback to student-athletes, and ensure safety and welfare during all activities. (80%) Practice Planning and Assessment – Offer post‑practice assessments to gauge progress toward established goals and assist the Head Coach with strategy development and execution. (15%) Other Duties – Assist the Head Coach with additional team‑related functions as needed. (5%) Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree 0–2 years of experience as a coach, participant, or related role in a competitive athletics program Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in building positive working relationships Demonstrated commitment to service excellence, embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision Positive and professional demeanor Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Preferred Qualifications Prior playing or coaching experience at the college level Equipment Operated Basic office equipment: desktop computer, copier/multi‑function device, fax, and telephone Working Conditions The assistant coach will work in multiple environments—indoor and outdoor practice and competition areas, recruiting sites, and an office setting. The schedule includes nights, weekends, and travel to competitions and prospective student recruitment events.
