Marcy Precious Little 1s is a boutique early learning program known for joyful learning, sensory play, themed experiences, and a warm, high-quality environment for scholars and staff. We are currently hiring a reliable, punctual, and positive Afternoon Assistant Teacher for our 2:00 PM–7:15 PM shift, Monday–Friday .

This is a long-term, non-seasonal position for educators who want to grow with a program that invests in its team.

A Short Overview of Your Role

As an Afternoon Assistant Teacher, you will help create a calm, engaging, and well-structured end to the school day by:

• Greeting scholars and families with warmth and professionalism
• Supporting afternoon learning through story time, block play, crafts, sensory play, and movement
• Assisting with dinner service and afternoon routines
• Providing homework support for after-school scholars
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
• Supporting end-of-day cleanup and closing responsibilities
• Communicating with families using Brightwheel
• Capturing learning moments with photos and videos as needed
• Assisting with classroom décor, theme days, graduations, and special events
• Collaborating with a supportive and creative team

Who We Serve

We serve scholars ages 6 weeks through 12 years , including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and after-school scholars. Staff may work with mixed-age groups based on program needs and ratios.

Physical Requirements

This role requires active engagement throughout the day, including standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting children or classroom materials (up to approximately 40 lbs ). Duties include both indoor and outdoor supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience working with children preferred
• CPR/First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is between $17.00 and $18.00 per hour . The pay range listed reflects what we anticipate offering for this job opening in good faith. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education and training, certifications, and other relevant business or organizational factors.
