Job Summary and Qualifications

Here is some of what you can expect from being an ED Unit Secretary with us:

• You will perform clerical and receptionist duties
• You will train staff as needed for new procedures
• You will be responsible for the inventory and ordering process of all non-PAR supplies (medibuy, forms, non-stock pharmacy, and equipment) on a weekly basis in collaboration with the department director
• You will be the primary daily Kronos editor for the department
• You will be responsible for reconciling the daily log
• You will be responsible for the department's statistical reports
• You will maintain the Logicare system to assure accurate statistics and correct phone numbers for referral MD's
• You will maintain Specialty MD call schedule for hospital
• You will perform order entry of all lab and radiology for ED patients, and ensure adequate coordination of admissions between CAD, Admissions, and the Charge nurse
• You will be responsible for the ED's daily reports
• You will manage a multi-line phone system and the wireless system
• You will be responsible for organizing orientation of new staff to the unit secretary duties

Qualifications you will need for this role:

• Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High school graduate or equivalency preferred
• Graduate of Unit Secretary or medical terminology course preferred
• Minimum 5 years acute care, unit Secretary Experience required
• Experience with computers (Meditech, Logicare, Outlook, and Kronos) and medical terminology required
• Inventory and ordering skills required

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
