C++ Software Engineer (Chicago)

We are partnered with a leading technology-driven firm in Chicago looking to add a strong Software Engineer to a growing platform engineering team.

This is a highly technical engineering role focused on building and improving large-scale, performance-sensitive systems used across the organization.

What You’ll Work On

• Designing and building complex distributed systems
• Developing high-performance software in C++ and/or Rust
• Improving the scalability, reliability, and performance of core platforms
• Solving challenging systems and infrastructure problems
• Building tools and services used by highly technical internal users
• Working across different layers of the technology stack
• Collaborating with engineers and technical stakeholders on system design and architecture

What They’re Looking For

• Strong professional experience with C++ or Rust
• Distributed systems or large-scale systems experience
• Strong CS and software engineering fundamentals
• Experience with performance-sensitive or systems-level engineering
• Platform, infrastructure, HPC, or backend engineering experience
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
