About Unit 3-1 Our General, Urology, and Colorectal Surgery unit is a fast-paced, patient-focused surgical unit specializing in care for individuals undergoing general, urologic, and colorectal procedures, as well as patients with renal disease, including peritoneal dialysis (PD) at the bedside. This is a Telemetry Class 2 floor , providing continuous cardiac monitoring as needed. Most patients are post-operative surgical cases arriving from PACU, with some direct admits from surgeons’ offices or the ED. Common Interventions include: Drain and wound management Wound vacs, G-tubes, J-tubes Ostomies and urostomies Peritoneal dialysis Continuous bladder irrigation Occasional chest tubes Position Purpose As an RN Leader , you will provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for Unit 3-1. You will ensure high-quality, evidence-based care delivery, mentor nursing staff, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes and a seamless experience. What You Will Do Supervise and support nursing staff in daily operations, ensuring compliance with NYS regulations and national standards of practice. Coordinate staffing, assignments, and workflow to maintain safe patient ratios. Serve as a mentor, educator, and resource for clinical decision-making and professional development. Facilitate communication between staff, physicians, and leadership to resolve issues promptly. Monitor quality metrics and implement process improvements for patient safety and satisfaction. Participate in performance evaluations and contribute to staff development plans. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
