Job Title: Warehouse Lead Job Description

The Warehouse Lead oversees day-to-day inventory and materials management in a steel manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate receiving, storage, documentation, and availability of parts and materials to support operations while maintaining budget and vendor coordination.

• Receive incoming items, verify quantities against purchase orders, and accurately record all receipts in the ERP system.
• Print and attach labels to received items and store or stock them in designated warehouse locations.
• Monitor purchase orders to track what has been received and what remains outstanding, and follow up as needed.
• Initiate and process purchase requests for spot buys, including identifying and sourcing appropriate vendors.
• Coordinate repairs by creating purchase orders and RMAs, arranging shop-out of parts, and receiving repaired items upon completion.
• Unload deliveries safely using appropriate material handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Perform regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies.
• Set up new parts in the inventory system, including entering item details and establishing appropriate stocking parameters.
• Support adherence to budget guidelines by monitoring inventory-related costs and collaborating with leadership on purchasing decisions.
• Review minimum/maximum reports and initiate orders for non–vendor-managed inventory parts to prevent stockouts.
• Oversee vendor-managed inventory receipts to ensure proper documentation and stocking.
• Return unused parts to stock in an organized manner to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Identify and periodically suggest unused or obsolete parts for purge, and assist in gathering and removing these items from inventory.
• Oversee stock levels, receiving processes, bills of lading, purchase orders, and other warehouse documentation.
• Use RF scanners and ERP or warehouse management systems to manage inventory, track movements, and support warehouse operations.
• Support shipping and receiving activities, including order pulling and material handling as needed to meet operational demands.

• Hands-on experience in warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, order pulling, and inventory control.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably Oracle or a similar enterprise resource planning platform.
• Experience with warehouse management systems and inventory control processes, including cycle counting.
• Ability to operate forklifts and safely handle materials within a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with RF scanners and related technology used for tracking inventory and processing orders.
• Experience overseeing vendor management activities, including coordinating vendor-managed inventory.
• Knowledge of bills of lading, purchase orders, and standard warehouse documentation and procedures.
• Ability to work with overhead cranes and other material handling equipment in an industrial setting.
• Strong organizational skills to manage stock levels, storage locations, and documentation for a defined warehouse area.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, recordkeeping, and inventory reconciliation.

• ERP experience, preferably with Oracle, is highly desirable.
• Vendor management experience, including working with vendor-managed inventory programs.
• Knowledge of maintenance materials or steel manufacturing processes is a significant plus.
• Experience working in a warehouse environment within heavy industry or manufacturing.
• Comfort working with technology such as RF scanners and computerized inventory systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to support material availability.

This opportunity offers a stable, full-time role on a Monday–Friday first shift schedule with flexibility in start time and the potential for overtime. You work in a hands-on environment where your contributions directly support production and maintenance operations. The role provides the chance to build expertise in inventory management and ERP systems within a large industrial setting, while benefiting from a consistent workweek and the satisfaction of keeping a critical operation running smoothly.

The role is based in a steel manufacturing plant, working specifically in the melt shop and overseeing approximately 1,000 square feet of warehousing storage. The environment can be very warm in the summer and cold in the winter, reflecting the nature of heavy industrial operations. You work in and around active production areas, using equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, RF scanners, and ERP or warehouse management systems to manage inventory and materials. The position involves physical activity, including unloading materials and handling parts, and requires comfort working in an industrial setting with varying temperatures and typical plant conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
