Instrument Man / Land Survey Technician

Join a Growing Land Surveying Team Mesquite / Garland, TX (Dallas Area) Competitive Pay (Based on Experience) CBG Surveying is looking for an experienced Instrument Man / Land Survey Technician to join our field crew in the Mesquite/Garland area . What You’ll Do Set up and operate total station equipment to collect accurate survey data Perform closed loop traverses, trig leveling, and data reduction Conduct COGO functions including inverse, resection, staking lines, and coordinate translation Read and interpret: Subdivision plats Metes and bounds legal descriptions Construction plans and specifications Locate property corners using plats, deeds, and field tools Run linework and assist with map checks using Carlson SurvCE Maintain and calibrate survey equipment (including prism rods) Ensure survey truck is fully stocked with tools and equipment daily Assist with clearing lines using field tools (machete, brush hook, chainsaw) Carry and manage field equipment (stakes, hubs, nails, etc.) Follow direction from the Party Chief and support field operations What We’re Looking For Experience as an Instrument Man or Land Survey Technician Knowledge of: Survey field methods and techniques Land surveying terminology Mathematical principles related to surveying Ability to operate survey equipment and software Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to read plans, maps, and legal descriptions Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions (heat, cold, rain) Strong work ethic and time management skills Valid driver’s license required Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of survey field experience Familiarity with Carlson SurvCE or similar software Coursework or training in land surveying Benefits Medical coverage (UnitedHealthcare) Voluntary dental and vision (Principal) 401(k) plan Why Work at CBG?
