Ellison Brewery + Spirits is seeking an experienced, dependable, and personable Server to join our front-of-house team! The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, enjoys providing exceptional guest service, and thrives in a fast-paced restaurant and taproom environment. Compensation $6.00 per hour plus tips Position Overview Servers at Ellison Brewery + Spirits are responsible for providing professional, attentive service while creating a welcoming and knowledgeable experience for every guest. This position involves serving our selection of craft beer brewed in-house, craft cocktails made with our own spirits, and a full food menu. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a high-volume environment, making menu and beverage recommendations, managing multiple tables, and maintaining a high level of service throughout each shift. Responsibilities Provide attentive, professional, and friendly service to all guests. Take accurate food and beverage orders using the Clover POS system . Serve craft beer, craft cocktails, spirits, and a full restaurant menu. Develop a strong knowledge of Ellison's beer, spirits, cocktails, and food offerings. Make informed recommendations based on guest preferences. Monitor tables throughout the dining experience and respond promptly to guest needs. Process payments accurately using the Clover POS system. Maintain clean and organized tables and service areas. Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, and front-of-house team members. Work efficiently and professionally during high-volume service periods. Follow all company policies and applicable food and alcohol-service regulations. Handle guest concerns professionally and work with management to resolve issues when necessary. Maintain a positive and team-oriented attitude throughout each shift. Qualifications Previous serving or restaurant experience preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment . Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain attention to detail during busy service. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Comfortable working independently while contributing to a team environment. Familiarity with POS systems. Willingness to learn about craft beer, spirits, cocktails, and food. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Required Certifications Employees must obtain the following certifications after completing their first week of employment: Food Handler ServSafe certification Alcohol ServSafe certification These certifications are required to continue working in the serving position and ensure all employees understand applicable food safety and responsible alcohol-service standards. Hours of Operation Ellison Brewery + Spirits is currently open: Monday: Closed Tuesday–Friday: 4:00 PM–10:00 PM (kitchen closes at 9 PM) Saturday: 12:00 PM–10:00 PM (kitchen closes at 9 PM) Sunday: 12:00 PM–8:00 PM (kitchen closes at 7 PM) We are located at: 4903 Dawn Ave, East Lansing, MI 48823 About the Position Working as a Server at Ellison is an opportunity to be part of a unique brewery, distillery, and restaurant environment.
