East Arkansas Family Health Center is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Medical & Dental Billing Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle team. This position is responsible for processing medical and dental insurance claims, resolving billing issues, monitoring unpaid claims, and ensuring accurate reimbursement from patients and third-party payers. Maintain billing documentation and supporting records. Generate patient statements and accurately post billing transactions. Verify billing information and reconcile reports for accuracy. Follow up on outstanding and escalated accounts, including those managed through Collectly. Investigate and resolve patient billing questions by phone and in writing. Monitor unpaid insurance claims and initiate follow-up activities to ensure timely reimbursement. Resubmit corrected or denied claims as needed. Balance daily billing batches and prepare deposit documentation. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient financial information. Serve as a resource for EAFHC staff regarding insurance coverage, patient account status, and provider billing questions. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings. Complete required continuing education and job-related training. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical billing, insurance claims processing, or a related healthcare business office role. Knowledge of medical and dental insurance claims, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance. Strong data entry and computer skills. Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information. Preferred Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or healthcare organization. Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software. Experience with claims follow-up and accounts receivable.
