Job Details Location: Washington Co Hospital – Washington, IA 52353 Position Type: Full Time Job Shift: Weekend Job Category: Health Care SUMMARY This position is responsible for performing tests through approved department procedures and in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements. Responsibilities Perform laboratory tests accurately and in a timely fashion following established guidelines and physician orders. Report all tests in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner in compliance with documented laboratory procedures timely. Inform appropriate personnel of department supply needs ensuring uninterrupted testing. Perform, record and analyze QC data in order to make judgments concerning the results and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision. Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work area, and monitoring temperatures in accordance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies. Recognize and troubleshoot malfunctions of advanced technological equipment and initiates corrective action. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Medical Technology, a related field in Science, or equivalent experience. Certification by ASCP, NCA, or AMT preferred. Knowledge of all areas in the laboratory demonstrated through interview process. Knowledge of laboratory computer system preferred.
