Completes investigations related to known or suspected employee dishonesty; malfeasance; alleged misappropriation of employee/patient/visitor/institutional property and information; and participates in internal security inquiries as directed by the Director of System Public Safety, and /or their designee. Manages proprietary task force activities which may include the development and implementation of crime prevention and staff educational programs regarding security related issues. Administers safekeeping and tracking investigation files and provides statistical reports as required. Assists in identifying and investigating inappropriate behavior claims and conditions at the direction of UC Health General Counsel, or his/her human resources or their designees. Location West Chester, OH, United States Qualifications Minimum required: high school diploma or GED. Preferred associate’s degree – Criminal Justice or related field or bachelor’s degree – Criminal Justice or related field. License & certification: Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy (OPOTA) certification as a police officer with the minimum hours of training required by OPOTA. Obtain IAHSS security officer certification within 18 months of employment. Minimum required: 3 – 5 years equivalent experience. Preferred: 6 – 10 years equivalent experience. Responsibilities Interview victims, witnesses and initial department personnel after reported security incidents. Gain follow‑up information from individuals who are involved either directly or indirectly in public safety related incidents. Collect and review any relevant evidence including video and digital media. Summarize investigative findings and conclusions. Perform investigations for all incidents that involve criminal activity (i.e. theft of UC Health or personal property or information). Conduct and coordinate periodic investigations to identify inappropriate associate activity utilizing various investigative techniques. Conduct internal investigations as directed, inclusive of use of force investigations and allegations of misconduct. Maintain close collaboration with local/state/federal law enforcement partners and work in partnerships to fulfill requirements to further any potential criminal activity. Work closely with law enforcement agencies as the appropriate liaison at the direction of the System Director. Serve as a liaison for System Public Safety regarding investigative enquiries related to incident review by the Joint Commission. Assess and evaluate integrity of all investigations to assure quality assurance across the public safety system. Be responsible for direct oversight of all Public Safety personnel conducting investigative functions across the system. Maintain quality assurance in reviewing all investigative work products and provide summary reports to Director of System Public Safety and senior leadership. Work in collaboration with the Public Safety Training Coordinators regarding all aspects of basic investigative techniques and comprehensive reporting across the system. Provide training recommendations to assure compliance with legal updates and training recommendations as defined by OPOTA. Work in direct collaboration with Human Resources to determine factual evidence for consideration in responding to suspected employee misconduct and malfeasance. Maintain confidentiality of all Human Resource related investigations. Assure compliance with all aspects of all Collective Bargaining Agreements related to employee rights during the course of investigations on behalf of Human Resources.
