Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Outpatient Primary Care

The incumbent provides primary healthcare services for non‑acute or chronic conditions in specific populations, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization within the CRNP scope of practice. Work is performed in a physician office or offices dedicated to Primary Care, with weekend and on‑call coverage on a rotational basis as required. Schedule: Monday‑Friday evenings and Saturday 8:00 am–2:00 pm. Company Allegheny Health Network Essential Responsibilities Provides appropriate patient care, including recording patient medical history and physical assessment, developing therapeutic care plans, ordering diagnostic tests, interpreting test results, and providing accurate medical record documentation. 25% Communicates and coordinates patient care with patients, families, community health services, and interdisciplinary team; involves attending physician regarding plan of care and clinical decisions outside the CRNP’s knowledge base or scope of practice. 15% Monitors and ensures continuity of care and coordinates periodic evaluation by physicians as defined in the written agreement between the CRNP and supervising physician(s). 10% Prepares written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances, administers medication and injections, sutures wounds, and provides wound care. 10% Educates patients and family members regarding health and preventive medicine, medications prescribed, treatment instructions, and recommends community resources as appropriate. 10% Triages patient telephone calls, provides monitoring and continuity of care. 10% Participates in, develops, and implements performance and/or quality improvement initiatives and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies. 10% May perform other duties such as managing outpatient concerns and any other duty specific to specialty. 10% Other duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications Required Master’s degree (MSN) from an approved Master’s Program. National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners through AANP, ANCC, NCC, or PNCB. Practicing‑state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Prescriptive Authority from the practicing state within 60 days of hire. Drug Enforcement Administration licensure within 60 days of hire. CPR – American Heart Association. Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate. Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate. Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate. Preferred Minimum 2 years NP or PA experience. Required (PA pathway) Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Current PA Physician Assistant License. PA‑C or board eligible, with successful recertification (NCCPA) within 90 days of hire. Drug Enforcement Administration licensure within 60 days of hire. CPR – American Heart Association. Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate. Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate. Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate. Substitutions Four to ten years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
