Executive Director, Facilities Operations

Lead the Future of Workplace Experience with Sodexo! As Executive Director, you will steward a growing, 40-year client partnership across 8 major East Bay sites. The ideal candidate will sit in Oakland, San Ramon or Pleasanton, onsite M-F.

Shape a holistic, hospitality-driven employee journey across food, facilities, concierge, conference, reception, parking and grounds. Lead 7 managers in a union setting, grow P&L results and inspire fresh thinking.

About the job

In this senior leadership role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of facilities operations, from skilled trades and maintenance programs to staffing, safety, and compliance, across complex, high-impact environments. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, ensure optimal building performance, and partner with internal stakeholders to drive strategic improvements and operational excellence.

The role of an individual contributor within the organization focuses on completing specific tasks and projects; contributing directly through their skills and expertise. Performs specialized technical tasks to support operations. Work is primarily achieved independently, however may collaborate with a team.

Pay Range

$161585 - $209110

Incentive Eligibility

Eligible to participate in Sodexo's incentive plan and earn variable compensation in addition to base salary

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience leading complex facilities operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and utility systems.
• Leadership skills with the skillset to manage, mentor, and inspire both frontline teams and management staff.
• Expertise in overseeing construction projects, capital improvements, and long-term infrastructure planning.
• Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, contracts, and resource allocation.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills to drive alignment and operational success across diverse teams.

Requirements

• Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Management Experience: 5-7 years
• Related Experience: 5-7 years
