Principal Linux & Windows System Administrator, Onsite, Plano, TX

Position: Linux & Windows Systems Administrator, Principal Specialist (Raytheon Digital Technology - Naval Programs) Location: Plano, TX (Onsite). Travel: up to 10% domestic US. Work hours: 24x7 system support with occasional extended hours. Salary Range: $86,800 – $165,200. Job Summary Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environment, supporting classified programs and ensuring secure, cost‑efficient operations. Responsibilities Administer Windows Server and RHEL environments, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, server replication, data RAID and backup technologies. Install, configure and troubleshoot software applications for end users. Work with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training. Develop solutions and documentation for technical problems of moderate to high scope, including hardware and OS integration. Support virtual computing environments (VMware vCenter, vSphere, ESX, Horizon, VDI). Maintain system availability 24/7, including occasional work beyond standard hours. Qualifications University degree or equivalent experience; minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience. Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued Top Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship. Experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows Server/client operating systems. Experience with VMware virtualization technologies. Hands‑on scripting skills and documentation of technical processes. Must obtain DoDD 8140/8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start date. Preferred Qualifications Containerization technologies (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Tanzu, Rancher). Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps). Knowledge of NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF. Experience with privileged access management (Centrify). Information technology project lifecycle management experience.
