Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary As a Maintenance Mechanic at Solenis, you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot site equipment to provide a safe operation with maximum production availability. The most important aspect will be working safely within a team to accomplish common goals. Responsibilities Perform general mechanic maintenance activities in a team atmosphere to meet or exceed Solenis’ safety, environmental and production goals. Keep the production units and supporting facilities in an utmost reliable working condition. Use good judgment to make choices that will contribute to overall plant efficiency, objectives and policies. Work in a safe manner to prevent injury to self or others. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical components of chemical production and packaging processes. Perform preventative maintenance procedures and repairs. Utilize blueprints, schematics, manufacturer specifications and manuals to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Use various measuring instruments necessary for the job. Recommend changes to existing systems or equipment to improve reliability or accuracy or further optimize the process. Recommend tools, equipment, or methods to improve safety or timeliness of system repairs. Support 24‑hour operations on call if needed; shift work may be required. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent experience. 4 years maintenance experience in an industrial plant, preferably chemical operations. Capability to perform basic mathematics, including fractions, decimal, and minor algebra. Good working knowledge of Millwright work, machining, welding and/or pipefitting. Knowledge of and experience with all types of drive train equipment (gears, bearings, belts). Rotating equipment alignment experience is preferred. Rigging experience is preferred, along with operation of lifting equipment. Hydraulics experience is a plus. Good working knowledge of various welding and burning techniques. Welding certification not required but would be considered a plus. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting experience. Prior experience with preventive and predictive maintenance preferred. Knowledge and experience using PCs, software, e‑mail, SAP. Compensation and Benefits $37.17 an hour. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision and 401k plan as well as starting with 15 days of vacation time.
