Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Certified LPN at North Mississippi Health Services plays a vital role in providing a wide variety of nursing functions to support the medical plan of care, adhering to hospital/departmental policies and procedures. Their responsibilities include patient care, documentation, teaching, and performing IV therapy, ensuring age-appropriate care and maintaining positive relations with patients, families, and medical staff. The LPN must possess problem‑solving skills to handle stressful situations and respond to changing patient needs effectively. Responsibilities Provide a wide variety of nursing functions to support the medical plan of care in compliance with hospital/departmental policies and procedures. Maintain patient records through daily nursing summaries, Medicare charting, acute care charting, and accurate medication administration records. Contribute to nursing care plans. Provide patient/family teaching necessary for continuing care during and after discharge. Perform IV therapy utilizing hospital guidelines. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (required). Associate of Nursing (required). Licenses and Certifications Licensed Practical Nurse (state licensure) (required). CPR certification (required). Experience Continuing education requirements as defined by the agency (required). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Maintain knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care. Complete 24–32 hours of orientation MIS computer training. Organize and prioritize work assignments. Delegate assignments appropriately to nursing assistants. Assist new employees in their orientation. Project a positive image of the unit to all customers. Maintain good working relationships with medical staff, unit personnel and ancillary departments. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
