Surveyor Layout Technician

As our Surveyor - Layout Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring construction projects are built accurately and efficiently. Your technical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to quality will support successful project execution through precise layout, field verification, and coordination with project teams. In this role, you will work closely with superintendents, foremen, and project teams to support construction activities in the field. Your day-to-day activities may consist of establishing site control and benchmarks, operating survey equipment, performing layout for structures and utilities, collecting as-built information, verifying layout accuracy, troubleshooting field issues, maintaining survey data, coordinating with project leadership, and supporting equipment maintenance and team training. Your Skills Construction Layout & Site Control Survey Equipment Operation As-Built Data Collection & Verification Quality Control & Accuracy Management Construction Drawing Interpretation AutoCAD & Survey Software Proficiency Safety Awareness & Jobsite Compliance Problem Solving & Attention to Detail Professional Communication Team Collaboration & Field Coordination Your Background Previous layout experience and knowledge with design software and robotics/GPS instrumentation in commercial construction, preferred Flexibility in your work schedule Strong decision-making, interpersonal and communication skills A high-quality approach and will make safety a priority in your daily work routine Passion about learning and growing your skillset Essential Functions You must be able to twist, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, climb stairs, walk on uneven ground, work above ground on scaffolds, have depth of perception to avoid excavations and other hazards, hear well enough to recognize the sounds of horns and sirens on moving equipment and have good finger manipulation. There is a constant lifting of 10 lbs., frequent lifting of 25 lbs. and maximum single person lifting of 50 lbs. For items over 50 lbs. get assistance from a co worker. Team members must be able to climb on light or heavy equipment, carry and use hand tools. There is standing up to seven hours of an eight-hour shift.
