What You Will Do

• Assist with the daily operations of the residence and ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, agency policies, procedures, and quality standards.

• Support the implementation of individuals' habilitation plans and ensure services are provided in accordance with their identified needs, preferences, and goals.

• Oversee individuals' personal allowances, bank accounts, financial records, and related documentation.

• Monitor medication administration to promote accuracy, safety, and compliance with applicable standards.

• Promote the health, safety, well-being, independence, and personal choice of individuals residing in the home.

• Assist with the training, supervision, and evaluation of assigned direct support staff.

• Assist the Residence Manager with creating, maintaining, and adjusting weekly staff schedules.

• Oversee and review program documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.

• Perform Direct Support Professional duties as needed to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of services.

• Complete incident reports and related documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.

• Respond to emergencies in a professional and appropriate manner.

• Proactively communicate with families and guardians to provide updates regarding individuals residing in the home.

• Communicate relevant concerns, changes, and progress to the Residence Manager and other members of the individual's support team.

• Support a positive, respectful, person-centered environment for both residents and staff.

• Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming residential environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum of 60 college credits ; an Associate's degree in a related field is preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) .

• Knowledge of OPWDD regulations , policies, and residential service requirements.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to respond to emergencies calmly and professionally.

• Valid and clean New York State Driver's License .

• Ability to work effectively with residents, families, staff, and interdisciplinary team members.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more .

• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move throughout the workday.

• Smartphone required.

• Must have completed the orientation period of 3–6 months in the current position, where applicable.

• Must be in good standing in the current position, where applicable.

• Must be current with all required mandatory trainings.

Preferred:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Services, Psychology, or a related field.

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience.

• Familiarity with eVero, ADP, and Microsoft Office .

• Previous experience working in an OPWDD residential setting.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more .

• Ability to stand, bend, lift, walk, and move throughout the workday.

• Ability to provide direct support and assistance to individuals when required.

Work Location

Nassau County, NY

Assigned residential locations may include:

• Glen Cove, NY

• Westbury, NY

• Port Washington, NY

The assigned location may vary based on program and operational needs.

Work Hours / Schedule

Full-time — 40 hours per week

Tuesday–Saturday

12:00 PM–8:00 PM

Schedule may vary based on the assigned residential location and program needs.

Pay

$23.00 per hour
