Job Title: Welder Job Description
This role involves setting up and operating MIG robotic and manual welding equipment to produce high-quality parts for demanding applications, including military components. You will use precision measuring tools and blueprints to ensure every part meets strict quality and dimensional standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities

• Set up and operate MIG robotic welding systems and manual welding equipment according to production requirements.
• Perform MIG welding on a variety of parts and assemblies, including components used in military and other high-specification applications.
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine weld locations, dimensions, and specifications.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Operate related fabrication equipment such as punch presses, press brakes, and lasers as needed to support production.
• Inspect welds and finished parts for defects, accuracy, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as required.
• Set up and adjust welding parameters and robotic programs under guidance, ensuring consistent weld quality.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in paid training for equipment setups, programming, and other technical skills to expand capabilities.

Essential Skills

• At least 2+ years of experience with MIG robotic welding in a production or manufacturing environment.
• At least 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
• At least 2+ years of experience using calipers, micrometers, and gauges for precision measurement.
• Ability to operate MIG welding equipment safely and effectively.
• Proficiency with tape measures and basic fabrication measurements.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed work instructions and quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Capability to work assigned shifts and meet attendance expectations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with punch press operation in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with press brake operation for metal fabrication.
• Experience with laser operation for cutting or fabrication processes.
• Relevant welding certifications or technical training.
• Interest in expanding skills through setup and programming training.
• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities, including leadership opportunities.

Work Environment
You will work in modern manufacturing facilities with multiple shift options. At the Badger and Cheyenne facilities, first shift runs from 4:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Monday-Thursday), second shift runs from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (Monday-Thursday), and a weekend shift runs from 4:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Friday-Sunday). At the Hickory facility, first shift runs from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday-Thursday), and second shift runs from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. (Monday-Thursday). A shift premium applies for second shift and weekend shift work. The environment uses MIG robotic and manual welding equipment along with punch presses, press brakes, and lasers. You will work under a structured attendance plan that rewards consistent attendance and provides clear expectations. The setting is production-focused yet comfortable, with access to a wellness center and fitness options. Dress expectations align with a typical manufacturing and welding environment, emphasizing safety gear and appropriate work attire.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richfield, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
