About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required; 4 years preferred. License: Valid state license required. Certifications: ACLS, Advanced AWHONN, BLS, NRP. Must-Have: Couplet care and postpartum experience. Description: Labor and Delivery position with 3 shifts per week. Experience in labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care is required. Candidates should have couplet care and postpartum experience. A minimum of 2 years experience is necessary, with 4 years preferred. First-time travelers are not accepted. On-call shifts will be scheduled once every four weeks if contracted for 3 shifts per week. The unit has 22 rooms and 28 beds. Patient ratios are 1:2 and 1:4 in postpartum care. Charting is done using EPIC. The medication system in use is Omnicell. An intensivist and hospitalist are in-house 24/7. An anesthesiologist is also in-house 24/7. Red wine colored scrubs are worn on the unit. Special equipment includes Belmont Rapid Infuser, Phillips Fetal Monitor, CADD epidural pump, Baxter IV pumps, ATOM cribs, and AVA 2 birthing beds. The patient population includes childbearing women and well newborns. Candidates must possess skills in administration of blood products, amnioinfusion, and postpartum hemorrhage management, among others. Flexibility with scheduling is required. Candidates may be expected to float within their skill set. Modules may be assigned and completed during the contract. Candidates should have experience with Epic charting. Background checks are conducted with no patterns of DUIs allowed. Former employees must have been gone for 2 or more years to return as travelers. Scheduling requests should be included in profiles and block scheduling is rarely granted. Extensions are allowed but require a break before returning to the role. Travelers may be called off or placed on call once per pay period. A 60-minute callback requirement is in place if placed on call.
