UBHC's 1,060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment, prevention, and education. UBHC, one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country, has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. Services are readily accessible and include inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, screening, crisis stabilization, family/caregiver support, community outreach and case management, supportive housing, supported employment, prevention and consultation, employee assistance programs, and a licensed therapeutic school from preschool through high school. Specialty services include the New Jersey suicide prevention helpline and peer help lines for police, veterans, active military, teachers, mothers of special needs children and child protective service workers. In FY2016, UBHC treated 16,199 consumers, had 24,502 admissions, and touched the lives of 19,441 individual callers through peer support. UBHC is also the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services, Children and Families, and Corrections, delivering 16,000 trainings each year. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse for the University Behavioral Health Care. The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Nurse position is to serve as an expert in advanced nursing care. The APN functions collaboratively with physician protocol for prescriptive practice and works collaboratively within the treatment team to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and assessment services. The APN demonstrates competency according to the American Nurses Association Advanced Practice Standards and credentialing body. Demonstrates a commitment to maintain the standard of clinical practice adapted by the American Nurses Association and ensures that nursing care meets the standards of practice for specialty credentialling certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or American Nurses Credentialing Center. Follows protocols for prescriptive practice. Delivers high quality care as rated by supervisor, collaborating physician and individuals served feedback. Consults with physicians, psychiatrist, and other clinical staff members as necessary. Coordinates care with Primary Care Provider. Provides advanced practice nursing care to individuals served presenting with acute problems, managing therapeutic regimes according to protocols. Assists in assuring individuals served have access to appropriate medication. Employment Details FLSA: Exempt Grade: 09S Salary: $172,557 (Primary) - Minimum $145,178; Mid Range $167,479; Maximum $191,311 Offer Information The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Controlled Dangerous Substances Registration Number. Drug Enforcement Administration Registration Number. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must have prescriptive ability. Physical Demands and Work Environment Standing to 2/3 of the time, walking to 2/3 of the time, requires sitting under 1/3 of the time, use of hands to finger, handle or feel to 2/3 of the time, reach with hands and arms, under 1/3 of the time, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl under 1/3 of the time, talk or hear over 2/3 of the time. Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic). Subject to unpredictable situations, patient crises, both medical and psychiatric. Occasionally exposed to patients exhibiting assaultive behaviors. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens that requires use of personal protective equipment.
