Lab Technician (2nd Shift)

Taconic, a global leader in the manufacture of PTFE coated fiberglass fabric, belts and tapes, is seeking a Lab Technician for our Petersburgh, NY location. Responsibilities: As Lab Technician, you will be responsible for the collection, testing, data management, and reporting of test data for all product samples, as well as general test equipment maintenance. Requirements: HS diploma or equivalent experience. Strong verbal communication and active listening skills. Must have good attention to detail with ability to understand and interpret product specifications, work instructions and drawings. Must be able to work well with others and prioritize based on changing work conditions. Ability to interpret instructions whether written, spoken, or in a diagram. Possess problem-solving skills. Computer skills especially in the use of Microsoft Office/Word/Excel Ability to manage files and records effectively. Knowledge to operate and understand dimensional, electrical and mechanical test equipment such as micrometer, tensile tester, dielectric tester, weight scales, etc. Ability to work with chemicals is required. A fundamental understanding of Taconic’s product line is preferred.
