Respiratory Therapist PRN

Scope of Work Assist patients in breathing more comfortably and help them live life more easily. Collaborate with clinical team to diagnose, monitor and treat conditions affecting lungs and breathing. Perform evaluations to determine respiratory care needs and make appropriate recommendations. Assess effectiveness of treatment and document accurately in compliance with department and regulatory standards. Perform point‑of‑care testing and advanced evaluation, management and therapeutic procedures for patients requiring respiratory assistance. Maintain competency in all areas of accountability and complete required education and competencies within designated timeframes. Ensure timely completion of documentation and billing activities. Facilitate smooth transition of patients to appropriate referral services, next point of service, or home, and provide education to patients and families on respiratory issues. Instruct and train respiratory care staff, nursing and other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services. Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy (Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree). Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine or equivalent clinical education. United States of America licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI). Upon hire: Certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Upon hire: Completion of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA. Within 90 days: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA. Within 90 days: Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA (or ARC). Ideal candidate will be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RT).
