Cashier Position

As a cashier, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience. Your role is critical in accurately processing transactions, handling cash and electronic payments, and maintaining the integrity of the cash register. You will contribute to a positive shopping environment by providing friendly and attentive customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly. Additionally, you will support store operations through janitorial duties and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to perform repetitive motions and lift heavy items are essential to meet the dynamic needs of the retail environment.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, previous experience in cashiering or retail customer service, basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately, ability to perform repetitive motions and lift up to 50 pounds safely, and strong communication skills and phone etiquette.

Preferred qualifications include experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash register operations, familiarity with janitorial duties in a retail environment, ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service, and previous experience in a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities include operating cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems to process customer purchases accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash drawer management and reconciliation, providing excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing concerns in a professional manner, performing janitorial duties such as cleaning checkout areas, restocking supplies, and maintaining overall store cleanliness, assisting with lifting and carrying heavy items as needed to support store operations and inventory management, managing phone etiquette by answering calls courteously and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel, and working a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts to meet store operational needs.
