The AI Business Intelligence Developer designs, builds, and supports modern business intelligence and AI-powered automation solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role combines expertise in data integration, reporting, analytics, and artificial intelligence to transform business processes through automation, self-service reporting, and intelligent workflows.

Working closely with business stakeholders and IT teams, the AI Business Intelligence Developer develops dashboards, semantic data models, AI agents, Copilot experiences, and workflow automations that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and provide timely, trusted business insights. The role ensures that AI solutions are built on secure, governed, and high-quality data while promoting responsible AI adoption throughout the organization.

Business Intelligence & Analytics

• Use AI-assisted development to design, develop, and maintain enterprise dashboards, scorecards, and reports.
• Build and maintain semantic models, data marts, and reporting datasets that provide a consistent source of truth.
• Develop KPIs, metrics, and executive reporting aligned with organizational goals.
• Partner with business units to understand reporting needs and translate requirements into scalable analytics solutions.
• Improve self-service analytics capabilities by creating reusable datasets, documentation, and user-friendly reporting experiences.

AI Solutions & Automation

• Design, develop, and deploy AI agents, Copilot solutions, and generative AI workflows that automate repetitive business processes.
• Build intelligent workflows using AI platforms such as Copilot Studio, Claude, Azure AI, or custom-developed solutions.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI for operational improvements, knowledge management, customer service, and internal productivity.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend practical applications aligned with organizational objectives.
• Monitor AI solution performance and continuously improve accuracy, usability, and business value.

Data Integration & Engineering

• Develop and maintain secure integrations between enterprise applications, databases, APIs, cloud services, and reporting platforms.
• Design ETL/ELT processes that ensure timely, accurate, and reliable data availability.
• Optimize SQL queries, data models, and data pipelines for performance and scalability.
• Support data governance by maintaining metadata, data quality standards, and documentation.
• Collaborate with application owners to ensure data consistency across systems.

Data Governance & Security

• Ensure reporting and AI solutions comply with organizational security, privacy, and governance standards.
• Implement role-based security and appropriate access controls.
• Promote responsible AI practices, including transparency and data protection.
• Assist in establishing standards for AI development, reporting, documentation, and lifecycle management.

Collaboration & Business Partnership

• Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on reporting, analytics, and AI opportunities.
• Facilitate workshops to identify automation and reporting improvements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring for self-service BI and AI tools.
• Create documentation, training materials, and best practices.
• Work closely with infrastructure, development, security, and business teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Requirements:

To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: 

• Knowledge of business intelligence, data modeling, and reporting principles and best practices. 
• Knowledge of SQL, relational database structures, and data integration processes (ETL/ELT). 
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies, including Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, and generative AI solutions. 
• Knowledge of data governance, information security, privacy requirements, and responsible AI practices. 
• Knowledge of business process analysis, workflow design, and automation methodologies. 
• Skill in developing interactive dashboards, reports, and semantic data models to support business decision-making. 
• Skill in designing and implementing AI agents, copilots, and automated workflows to improve operational efficiency. 
• Skill in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting SQL queries and integrating data from multiple systems and sources. 
• Skill in analyzing business requirements and translating them into effective technical solutions. 
• Skill in presenting and communicating technical concepts and recommendations to business and non-technical stakeholders. 
• Skill in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving reporting, data quality, and AI solution issues. 
• Ability to analyze complex business challenges and develop practical, AI-driven solutions that deliver measurable results. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality. 
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
• Ability to quickly learn, adapt, and apply emerging technologies to enhance organizational performance. 
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information and implementing secure, compliant, and well-governed solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–7 years of experience developing business intelligence, analytics, or data solutions.
• Experience implementing Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure AI, OpenAI services, or similar AI technologies.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and building data pipelines and curated, analysis-ready datasets.
• Experience with Power BI and Power Platform.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Freshservice, or similar enterprise platforms.
• Experience with Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• Knowledge of RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases, and AI agents.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications.
• Ability to communicate effectively in American Sign Language (ASL)
