Transportation Associate

Overview Are you ready to help Amazon deliver world class service in its transportation operations? As a Transportation Associate you will assist with trailer moves in the trailer yard, coordinate yard activities, conduct yard audits, complete driver training programs, and operate various vehicles to support Amazon’s transportation network. Responsibilities Make safety a priority and enforce safety measures for all operators and entrants to the yard. Perform various functions within the yard, support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers to ensure all trailers arrive and depart on time with zero defects and maintain workflow for buildings. Be professionally trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non‑public roads or in the yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations. Learn DOT regulations and comply with company policies and procedures concerning size, weight, routes, parking, trailer designation, violation reporting, break periods, etc. Complete driver vehicle inspection reports and notify managers of any maintenance or delivery issues. Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks, comply with Amazon policy, federal and state regulations, adhere to yard safety policies, obey traffic laws, and drive according to weather/road conditions. Support the business as needed by serving as a peer trainer or working at nearby site locations within the area. Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment (pallet jack, etc.). Basic Qualifications Hold a valid and active driver’s license for the state of residence. High School or equivalent diploma. Be 21 years old or older. Work 40 hours a week, with overtime as required. Work a flexible schedule/shift/area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays. Lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to push, pull, squat, bend, and reach. Understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines in English. If assigned to over‑the‑road driving, hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and be eligible per DOT requirements, including English proficiency. Preferred Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences. Experience building strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors. Completion of Career Choice Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Course. Experience with Microsoft Office applications. Compensation and Benefits The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. Additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
