Network And Telecommunications Engineer
Designs, builds, secures, maintains, and troubleshoots District LAN/WAN networks, wireless systems, servers, and connected facilities systems (security, HVAC, cameras, access control, etc.). Ensures secure separation of student, staff, lab, and guest wireless networks; manages guest access for public events. Plans, tests, deploys, and documents server hardware/software upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery solutions. Installs, configures, and maintains firewalls; monitors network security, access controls, and availability. Administers Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, and campus-wide account management systems. Architects and manages the District's telecommunications and VoIP infrastructure, including phones, voice servers, vendors, and licensing. Monitors network performance and system alerts; analyzes usage and implements improvements for reliability and efficiency. Leads and supports network, server, and telecommunications projects, including large-scale deployments and upgrades. Collaborates with IT staff, management, and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues. Develops and supports network policies, procedures, training, and best practices while staying current on emerging technologies. CCNA: Cisco Certified Network Associate Certification Bachelor's Degree and/or relevant field experience required.
