Accounting Clerk

Founded in 1912, Nehring Electrical Works has been producing wire and cable products longer than any wire mill in the Midwest. Nehring manufactures and markets bare/insulated copper and aluminum wire to the utility, telecommunication, electrical distribution and OEM markets.Due to continued growth, Nehring needs to hire an Accounting Clerk to support its business initiatives. Position The Accounting Clerk reports directly to A/P and plays an integral role supporting the A/P and A/R functions.The successful candidate will handle the following responsibilities: Accurately reviewing, coding, and processing vendor invoices in a timely manner Ensuring proper approvals are obtained in accordance with company policies Reconciling accounts payable transactions and vendor statements regularly Investigating and resolving discrepancies or issues related to invoices and payments Communicating with vendors and internal departments to address billing inquiries Ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company procedures Oversee the A/P function, communicating with suppliers, ensuring a three-way match of documents and vouching invoices into the ERP system. Assists with the Credit and Collections function, reviewing new customer accounts, monitoring customer payment performance and contacting customers when necessary. Handles day-to-day banking transactions and performs month-end bank reconciliations. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field required.Bachelor’s degree preferred. Proactive mindset, strong time management skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross functional teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.Strong Excel skills. Must have ERP experience. Roll-up-your-sleeves mentality with the ability to wear many hats. Self-motivated with the ability to exhibit confidence and professionalism inside and outside the organization.
