The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor serves as a front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit. Embraces, uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision making structures and processes. Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering "Service Always" and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility. Job Responsibilities Staffing Patient review and placement Serve as a resource to Charge Nurse and staff Responds to all events on units Assists with orientation Conducts chart and environmental audits per Joint Commission standards Coaching and education of staff Can act as Charge Nurse or take patients if needed Minimum Qualifications Certification - Basic Life Support; Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within 3 months of hire Licensure - Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia Experience - 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse Education - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or Associate's Degree RN within 1 year of completing their BSN) Preferred Qualifications Former psychiatric experience strongly preferred About Us We are Inova, Northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
