Job Description Summary The GW Student Health Center (SHC) at George Washington University is a multidisciplinary, integrated student healthcare service that provides confidential, student-centered care in an accessible, safe, culturally sensitive, and supportive environment. The SHC promotes healthy lifestyle choices and supports the physical and emotional well‑being of students to achieve academic success. Responsible for clinic patient flow: monitor patients’ arrival, accompany or assist them into the exam room in a friendly and professional manner, and inform medical providers of patient arrival and room assignment. Obtain and transcribe patients’ vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, pulse oximetry, visual acuity and orthostatic blood pressures) to the electronic medical record (PNC) accurately and promptly. Perform a variety of diagnostic CLIA waived testing and screening procedures: Rapid strep testing Flu testing COVID/Flu testing Monospot testing Urinalysis and urine culture Urine pregnancy testing Collect laboratory specimens: Throat culture Urine culture GC/CT throat GC/CT urine Maintain COVID and Flu logs and enter point‑of‑care lab results into PNC. Assist medical providers during examinations and procedures as needed: Ears lavage Fluorescein eye exams Suturing Wound care IV fluids Give intramuscular injections and order titers and Quantiferon Gold testing for nurses; assist in explaining test procedures to patients. Administer medications (oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, inhalation, topical) using proper technique. Restock, clean, and prepare the medical exam rooms and the SHC lab; restock the bathroom and perform light cleaning as occasionally required. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Qualified candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
