Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Schedule

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, delivering, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency obstetric procedures
• Provide patient education and emotional support to mothers and families
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Recover and monitor patients in the PACU following cesarean deliveries
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN License required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Experience in a mid-size to large hospital Labor & Delivery unit required
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
• Experience caring for laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients
• Strong fetal monitoring and maternal assessment skills
• Ability to respond effectively to obstetric emergencies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume Labor & Delivery units
• Experience with cesarean section recoveries and PACU care
• Previous travel nursing experience

Unit Highlights

• Approximately 230 deliveries per month
• 14 Labor Rooms
• 3 Triage/Observation Rooms
• 2 Operating Rooms
• 3 PACU Bays
• 4-bed OB Emergency Department (OBED)

Pay Package(40hrs/week)

• Total Non-taxable Pay (weekly): $1246
• Total Taxable Pay (weekly): $1,224
• Gross Total Pay (weekly): $2,470
