MANUFACTURING TECH I - 3rd Shift

Flavor Manufacturing Technician – McCormick Full-time position located in Geneva, IL. The role reports to a Team Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up and operate all pieces of the filling packaging equipment as well as perform hand-filling tasks. Operate a small Spray Dryer. Understand and follow all packaging instructions on production cards and daily schedule (e.g., weights, label requirements, formula integrity, machine number, etc.). Keep accurate production records, report information daily and accurately. Inspect in-process goods for proper weights, labeling, packaging, pallet configuration, correct and/or report defects. Perform sanitation duties, proper housekeeping, and adhere to safety and GMP procedures. Help maintain equipment, report all machinery breakdowns or problems, and resolve basic mechanical issues. Perform all retain procedures. Assist in making basic, small blends, and emulsions. Operate forklift in a safe manner. Perform changeovers and washdowns (including chemical, allergen, and kosher) of equipment. Participate in team/department meetings, offering suggestions where warranted. Responsible for disposal of trash and operating compactor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Logical thinking in performing multiple duties, often while working on different projects at the same time. Mental ability to memorize various policies and procedures. Tact in knowing when to consult higher-level decision makers. Reading comprehension to interpret formula sheets, printed/written materials, and computer screens. Color discrimination. Basic math proficiency; legible writing. Physical ability to lift and carry pails of liquids (50 lbs), move containers over 50 lbs, roll 600 lb drums by hand. Physical ability to climb ladders/stairs and bend/stoop around equipment. Operational proficiency with hand tools, high-pressure water hoses, and computer input (touch‑screen/keyboard). Availability for full shifts plus daily overtime (often on short notice) and on weekends; flexibility for other shifts or longer shifts (10–12 hours). Forklift license required or ability to obtain certification through McCormick. Team‑based work environment proficiency. Wearing a PAPR/positive‑pressure respirator and capability to complete annual pulmonary function monitoring and testing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in a computer‑based system – SAP experience. Experience working in a GMP environment. High School Diploma or equivalency.
