Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in an emergency department setting
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, recognizing data from complex situations to determine priorities of care, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop, update, and evaluate individualized plans of care, promoting continuity and cost-effective care
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems and perform bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan
• Educate patients and families by assessing readiness to learn, developmental level, and factors affecting ability to learn, utilizing appropriate patient education materials
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment while adhering to healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or ARC)
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Familiarity with emergency department workflows and high-acuity patient populations
