Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist provides care for general medical, intermediate, and intensive care patients. Daily treatments will follow the AARC point system, with an expected target of 26-28 points. Key equipment includes Servo U, Servo i, LTV for ventilators; ResMed S9 for Bipap and Cpap; Fisher Paykel for heated high flow. A team lead will provide support on each shift and will not take an assignment. Clientists and intensivists are available 24/7. Shifts are 12 hours, with a schedule of 0630-1900 for days and 1830-0700 for nights. Weekend work is required every other weekend, and holiday work is required every other holiday. There is no on-call or standby call requirement, and floating is not required in respiratory therapy. Scrubs of any color are permitted, but are not provided. The first 12 hours of departmental orientation will include training on the electronic charting system and equipment reviews, followed by on-the-job training with a preceptor.
