About the Role As a Part‑Time Recreation Associate I at the Cortez Recreation Center, you will play a vital role in supporting the facility's diverse operations. This entry‑level, multipurpose position involves assisting with programming and ensuring the smooth functioning of various areas, including the gymnasium, fitness center, walking track, racquetball courts, meeting rooms, and locker rooms. You will also lend support to the front desk and aquatic center, while helping with maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed. Must be able to assist cleaning various areas within the Recreation Center. Must have the ability to communicate with the public and co‑workers. Must have knowledge of City activities. Must be safety‑minded and willing to address unsafe situations promptly. Must be able to lift and move spin bikes, tables, and chairs. Must be able to learn how to operate facilities within the Recreation Center including fitness equipment, rock wall auto‑belays, gym divider screen, and how to set up and use various sports equipment. Must acquire First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire. Hours will be 25 per week, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and evenings preferred. Salary: $15.25 – $16.18 per hour.
