Areas of expertise include Roadway and/or Rail and related transportation services. Relationships with key Atlanta area clients, state and local government, and business partners are essential. Responsibilities of the position are, but not limited to:Strategy and Business PlanningStrategic business planning and budgeting for the Atlanta Transportation practiceParticipate in the development and execution of the growth strategy for the Southeast Transportation Market, specifically focusing on mobility/transportation planning and traffic engineering, and highway, roadway, and bridge planning and design,Collaborate with the maritime and coastal practice planning Develop and manage tactical strategies aligned with the overall growth plan for the region/countryWinning WorkGrow effective relationships with key clients defined by winning new workImplement short and long-term strategies that contribute to GHD’s growth and profitabilityLeveraging market knowledge to win new clientsSeamlessly collaborate with leadership and resources across GHD to bring solutions to clientsActively participate in professional and/or industrial organizations to promote the GHD brand.Operations and TalentInterim accountability for the operational performance of Atlanta Metro Transportation Practice (until subsequent applicable operations-oriented hire)Interim accountability for project financial performance for projects owned by the Atlanta Metro Transportation PracticeWork closely with US, Region, and Metro Leaders and other Business Group Leads (BGL) to forecast market needs in the MetroAssist in the identification, recruiting and hiring of transportation talent into the Atlanta Metro practiceProject DeliveryWork with project directors, project managers, and project teams, to effectively deliver exceptional projectsLead and/or manage project and project teams across Atlanta Metro / Georgia (as applicable), while maintaining a client facing roleManage scope, schedule, and budgets of multi-faceted traffic and transportation projectsSupport proposal efforts and assist in preparation of engineering contracts/agreementsOversee the preparation, completion, and provide senior review of reports and design plans for various projectsLead business development activities and strategies on behalf of GHD, position for new work and secure projectsDemonstrated experience in taking a project from start to finish, including preparing proposals, conducting studies, detailed design and data analysis to teaming partner managementTypical projects may include:Mobility / transportation planningHighway / Roadway / Bridge design projects for state and local agencies Traffic signal design and operation Complete Street analyses and plan developmentRoundabout planning and designTraditional traffic and parking studiesAdditional technical capabilities the successful candidate may bringSkills, Experience and QualificationProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseMinimum of 15 years of relevant experience with solid technical knowledge and skills across the transportation industry, including a strong background in traffic engineering, transportation planning and/or roadway design; construction experience a plusGDOT and local public (City/County) agency experienceWhat you will bring to the teamEntrepreneurial spirit and drive to grow a thriving, sustainable practiceDemonstrated portfolio of State, Municipal, and agency transportation projects Strong foundation across multiple traffic engineering software programsExperience and familiarity with GDOT and other agency standards and protocols is preferred.Strong leader, with the ability to collaborate with project staff and maintain a cohesive team environmentAbility to coach and mentor junior staff to technically strengthen the team capabilities.Take on some of the world’s toughest challenges - with everyone at GHD backing you every step of the way.
