Mark-Costello Company is a locally owned waste handling equipment company specializing in industrial trash compactors and balers for industrial waste and recycling. With over 20,000 on-site systems throughout Southern California, we have been trusted by logistic companies, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, retail centers, major sports stadiums and educational institutions for over 65 years. Our team is dedicated to reducing waste and providing recycling needs while building long-term business relationships.

Role Description

This is a true outside sales role for someone who prefers being in the field over sitting at a desk. You will spend most days traveling within your territory, visiting industrial facilities, job sites, and customer locations across Ventura County — starting at Santa Clarita and covering everything west, including Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, Oxnard, and Ventura. Success in this role comes from face-to-face relationship building, consistent territory coverage, and the ability to open doors with new accounts. If you enjoy autonomy, being on the road, and building business through persistence and follow-through, you'll do well here.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

• Spending the majority of your workweek in the field, not behind a computer.
• Visiting existing customers to strengthen long-term relationships.
• Prospecting new accounts through cold visits, referrals, and territory planning.
• Conducting in-person sales presentations at industrial and commercial facilities.
• Managing your own schedule, pipeline, and follow-ups.
• Representing a long-established, locally owned company with deep roots in the industry.

• Have experience generating your own leads rather than relying on inbound inquiries.

• Enjoy relationship-driven, long-cycle B2B sales.
• Relationship management and account development through consistent, in-person client engagement.

This Role Is Not a Fit If You:

• Are looking for a desk-based, remote, or hybrid sales role.
• Rely primarily on inbound leads to hit quota.
• Are uncomfortable with cold outreach or face-to-face prospecting.
• Need highly structured days or constant direction.
• Prefer transactional, quick-close sales environments.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience of outside sales experience
• Sales Presentations, Relationship Building, and Customer Service skills
• Possess Communication and interpersonal rapport building skills
• New Business Development skills
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented.....self managed
• Ability to work independently and within a team
