JOB SUMMARY :

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance of grounds equipment and facilities.

Work Hours :

Shifts7am-4pm 8am-5pm

Monday-Friday

Some after hours or weekend work as required

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists in maintaining the appearance site security and general oversight of the landfill and compost sites including mowing weed cutting minor landscaping pressure washing fence gate and sign repairs painting minor carpentry work and collecting windblown trash and large items as needed.
• Assists in cleaning water recycling systems; inspects sprinkler functionality and makes repairs and/or reports malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
• Communicates effectively with employees in the work group and department.
• Follows safety policies and procedures.
• Attends safety meetings and training events.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

1. Performs general maintenance work and inspections including carpentry electrical work painting plastering minor plumbing HVAC facility systems septic systems equipment and buildings as needed. Coordinates with outside vendors as needed for maintenance assistance.

1. Clears debris using power blowers or pressure washers to clean facility areas.

OTHER ASPECTS OF THE JOB :

Physical and Environmental Conditions: Ability to sit stand and drive a vehicle to and from various worksites. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. Work may involve exposure to seasonal temperatures travel across rough uneven or rocky surfaces at the landfill is required. Must be available to work irregular hours shifts weekends and some holidays.

Minimum Education Experience and Certification: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Valid Texas drivers license. Minimum of two years of grounds maintenance or related facilities maintenance experience.
