Assistant Human Resources Manager - English/Spanish Bilingual

We are looking for a Human Resources Assistant Manager who believes great HR happens where the work happens—on the floor, alongside our employees and leaders, building relationships, solving problems, and creating an environment where people can do their best work. The ideal candidate is more than an HR administrator. You are a trusted advisor, problem solver, coach, and connector who can move comfortably between the production floor, leadership team, and corporate HR organization. You bring the ability to communicate with employees in both English and Spanish, understand the realities of an industrial workforce, and turn HR strategy into action.

Your Role in Our Success:

Be a Trusted HR Partner on the Floor

• Your presence will be felt throughout the operation. You'll build relationships across shifts and serve as an approachable resource for employees and leaders on performance, attendance, conflict resolution, employee relations, and everyday HR needs.
• You'll bring an open-door mindset and the confidence to listen, ask questions, investigate concerns, and help leaders navigate difficult situations fairly and consistently.
• As a bilingual HR leader, you'll help ensure Spanish-speaking employees have an equal opportunity to understand expectations, access resources, raise concerns, and feel connected to the organization.

Help Build a Workplace Where People Want to Stay

• You'll help develop programs that strengthen engagement, recognition, retention, and connection across the workforce. You'll have an opportunity to celebrate employee milestones, recognize contributions, support cultural integration, and help create an environment where employees feel seen, valued, and respected.

Bring Talent Into the Organization

• You'll partner with hiring leaders to understand workforce needs and support effective recruiting strategies for production, technical, and leadership positions.
• You'll help coordinate the hiring process, including developing job descriptions, coordinating interviews, facilitating pre-employment activities, and supporting a positive candidate experience.
• You'll also facilitate bilingual onboarding and orientation, helping new employees understand our expectations, culture, safety standards, and what it means to be part of the Motus team from day one.

Develop People and Preserve Knowledge

• Manufacturing expertise is built over time, and our most experienced employees carry valuable knowledge that cannot always be found in a manual.
• You'll partner with leaders to identify training needs and help develop programs that strengthen technical skills, safety, compliance, leadership, and career development.
• You'll also have an opportunity to help create mentoring and cross-training programs that transfer decades of specialized headliner manufacturing knowledge to the next generation of employees.
• This is more than training. It's about protecting the knowledge that makes our operation successful while creating opportunities for people to grow.

Help Employees Navigate Benefits and HR Resources

• You'll serve as a resource for employees throughout their employment experience, helping them understand benefits, enrollment, changes, and other HR programs in the language they are most comfortable using.
• You'll partner with the corporate HR team to ensure local practices align with company programs and expectations.

Own the Details That Keep HR Running Behind great HR is great execution.

• You'll maintain accurate employee and training records, support HRIS and timekeeping processes, assist with payroll administration, and ensure sensitive employee information is handled with discretion.
• You'll also support the implementation of HR policies and practices while maintaining compliance with applicable federal and Michigan employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEOC requirements.

Minimum Skills and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3 + years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate professionally and empathetically in both languages
• Strong understanding of employee relations and applicable employment laws
• Ability to build trust and credibility with hourly employees, supervisors, managers, and senior leaders
• Comfortable spending significant time on the production floor and across multiple shifts
• Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive matters
• Excellent communication, investigation, coaching, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with an HRIS; Paycor experience is preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
